ADVANCE BOOKING

Space (and therefore places) are limited. It helps me to have a sense of numbers and to know in advance who is coming. Booking your place in advance, will ensure your place and that you are not disappointed if all the places have already been taken. If you change your mind, do please let me know (on 07790 835854) so that your place can be made available to someone else.
ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE
  • Doors open 20 minutes prior to start time (Please don't come before that as we will be preparing the space).
  • Once the Gong Bath has started the door will  be closed and you won't be able to get in – so, please arrive by the stated start time!
  • The Gong Bath event will conclude after about an hour, when you will be free to leave; but, you are invited to stay on if you wish, to chat and share before you leave.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW AND WHAT TO BRING

Gong therapy and related sound therapies are gaining increasing recognition as valuable tools in the treatment of many conditions. From my perspective, your body is its own best healer - but it isn't often given the time, space or environment to support that healing to happen. The deep relaxation and de-stress provided by the gong bath and the spectrum of resonant sounds which the body absorbs, provide real nourishment and support for the body's own healing and restorative processes.  If you have any questions please take them up with me before the event as there is little time on the day to cover things in any depth. Links can be provided on request for recommended further reading on the subject.

BEDDING: It is usual and recommended to lie down to best receive the sounds. (If this would really not be a comfortable option for you, you may sit in one of the chairs at the venue.) Bring something that you will be comfortable lying on for the best part of an hour. The floor at this venue is hard. A single yoga mat will not be enough, though two may do the trick. Airbeds, camping mattresses etc work well. I would suggest that you also bring a blanket or two as your temperature may drop; and something to rest your head on. If you know you need a support for knees or back to be comfortable, please bring that too.

FOOD & WATER: It is important to drink plenty of water, to keep yourself hydrated before and after a gong bath. A heavy meal and alcohol beforehand are not recommended.

COMFY CLOTHING: loose comfortable clothing -  warm socks/slippers. (Preferrably no outdoor shoes in the Gong Space). You may want to bring an eye mask or scarf to cover your eyes. If you have hearing issues, you may want to bring ear plugs with you – your body will still absorb the sound.

SNORING: Please don’t fret if you know you are a snorer – but know that if persistent loud snoring is disturbing the people around you, they may ask you quietly (or gently nudge you) to move onto your side or other position in which you don't snore.

HEARING AIDS: It is generally recommended that people remove their hearing aids before a gong bath. Some sound frequencies can cause some hearing aids to buzz or whistle.

AFTERWARDS:
  • Keep yourself warm. Drink lots of water. This will help the body to flush any toxins out of the system.
  • It is best to take it easy after a Gong Bath, to allow it to have greatest effect. If possible, don't get caught in busy-ness for the rest of the day.
  • If you have any questions after the session, please feel free to ring me and discuss them.

PLEASE NOTE, GONG BATHS MAY NOT BE RECOMMENDED
